Best Christmas Light Displays in Town
‘Tis the season of ugly Christmas sweaters, Christmas traffic, and Aunt Deb drinking a little too much eggnog. It is also the season to visit awesome displays of Christmas lights! We’ve put together a list of the best neighborhoods, houses and attractions to see Christmas lights, this season!
1. Brad’s Christmas Light Show
Where: 1722 Edwin Dr. Bel Air MD, 21015
When: 5:30 – 10:00 pm Sunday – Thursday & 5:30 – 11:00 PM Friday & Saturday
Every year a house in Colonial Acres puts on an amazing Christmas Light Show. 15 minutes of nonstop lights and music, tune to 92.7 FM!
2. Miracle on 34th Street Christmas Lights
Where: 720 West 34th Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21211
When: Thanksgiving weekend to January 1st
Enjoy your very own Miracle on 34th Street in this Baltimore neighborhood, located in Hampden. Neighbors in this block of rowhomes, in Baltimore City, string Christmas lights across the street. The displays include inflatable snow globes, blinking angels, musical trains and more! A few homeowners even allow visitors a peek inside.
This is a free display and the lights are on every night from Thanksgiving weekend to January 1st, including all night on Christmas Eve & New Years Eve.
3. Abingdon Light Show
Where: Laurel View Dr, Abingdon, MD 21009
When: 5:30-10 p.m. daily until Monday, Dec. 31 (unless there is bad weather)
4. Newton Noel: A Christmas Light Show
Where: 2111 Telegraph Rd, Pylesville, MD 21132
When: 6-9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 6-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday
This crowd favorite features almost 38,000 lights and a 7-foot rooftop star of Bethlehem. The Newton family, which puts together the stunning light show, says it is in its 7th year creating the holiday attraction, known as “A Newton Noel.”
5. Symphony of Lights
Where: Broken Land Parkway and Hickory Ridge Road | Columbia, MD 21044
When: Open 5 days a week, including holidays: 5:30 – 10:00 p.m.
Symphony of Lights is a light display of 70 larger-than-life, animated and stationary light creations. The light display will be open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
6. Winter Festival of Lights
Where: Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro
When: November 24 – December 31, 2017 | 6-9 pm (10pm Fri.& Sat.)
The Festival is open Friday, November 23, 2018, through Tuesday, January 1, 2019. You can drive through from 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. This winter wonderland offers guests all the thrills for just $5 per person.
7. Walking in a Christmas Wonderland – North Pole Lights Walk
When: November 24, 2017 – December 23, 2017 | 4:30-7pm Fridays and Saturdays
Where: Willow Oak Flower & Herb Farm | Severn
Take a self-guided walk through our shimmering Winter Wonderland,and stop by Santa’s Cabin to put in your Christmas request. The gardens have new trails with lighted scenes of Christmas. See the flower fairies decorate the gazebo, Polar Bear Central, Gingerbread house, Forest Animals, and Enchanted Fairy Garden. Be sure to come back to the barn to warm up with hot chocolate. Don’t miss this year’s special guest from the North Pole, Prancer!
8. Brookside Garden of Lights
Where: Brookside Gardens | Wheaton
When: November 24, 2018 – January 1, 2019
Brookside Gardens is hosting its 19th annual Garden of Lights outdoor holiday lights exhibit; a magical winter wonderland illuminated with more than one million dazzling lights depicting flowers, animals and nature. Visit inside the Conservatory to enjoy seeing the G-Scale model trains wind through a festive landscape. Afterward, warm up with hot cocoa inside the Visitors Center as you listen to one of the nightly musical performances.
9. Lights on the Bay at Sandy Point State Park
Where: Sandy Point State Park | Annapolis
When: November 18, 2017 – January 1, 2018 | 5-10pm
Lights on the Bay at Sandy Point State Park has become a tradition for many families for the past decade. Enjoy a scenic drive along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay with more than 60 spectacular animated and stationary displays illuminating the roadway.
$15/car, $28/large van and mini-bus, $50/bus.
10. Maryland Food Bank Christmas Light Display
Where: 22 Kitzbuhel Road in Parkton Maryland 21120
Lights go on at 5:00pm. and off at 9:00pm. Sunday thru Thursday
on at 5:00pm. and off at 10:00pm. Friday and Saturday
Trains go on at 6:00pm. and off at 10:00pm. There is no admission fee
