Angel Park
The word “angel” has multiple meanings. It refers to people who are good, beautiful and kind. It can also mean a guardian or a messenger of God. If you’ve been wondering what is being built next to the Perry Hall Library on Honeygo Boulevard…keep reading!
The land will soon become Angel Park. The park is going to reflect every meaning of the word “Angel.” From a sad origin, Angel Park is being built in memory of Kelli and Andy Szczybor’s baby boy, Ryan. The park is envisioned as a venue that will include a playground, an amphitheater, and a memorial area for reflection. It will include amenities for children with disabilities so that all children can play there.
Angel Park has been in the works since 2012. Finally, the construction for the park is set to happen later this month. Groundbreaking is slated for Monday, February 29th, at 11:00 AM at 9685 Honeygo Boulevard.
Prior to groundbreaking, there will be two community events held to support the construction of the park:
- Cornhole Tournament: Angel Park fundraiser at noon on Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. Joseph Parish Center, 8416 Belair Road, Nottingham. Cost is $50 per team of two.
- Family Fun Construction Day: Community information and engagement activity at noon on Sunday, Feb. 28, at Soukup Arena, 4905 Joppa Road. Cost is $5 per family.
If you want to help, you can become a member of the committee – Angel Park will need a lot of volunteers to make this a success! You can visit the Angel Park website or go to the Get Involved page to sign up as a volunteer!
